Pet Allergy Symptoms
Do you find that your pets are making you want to sneeze or your eyes to water? Most people with pet allergy symptoms still refuse to give their dogs or cats away but prefer to control their irritations with medication.
What you are really allergic to is not your dog or cat per se but the animal skin dander. The dander is what will trigger the itchy, water eyes, sneezing, and affect the nasal passage. Some people will be affected by the pet allergies just a little bit, or they may end up having hay fever because of their pet.
Pet allergies are very common. Some people say that if your child is exposed to such animals, you will find that he has a decreased risk of developing a pet allergy later on in life.
Most of the time, pet allergy symptoms are very mild. In severe cases, however, doctors may recommend that you take prescriptions to keep your pet allergy symptoms under control. This is when you really need to decide how important your pet is to you versus the fact that you are going to have to be on medication as long as you are around the pet. Of course, there are ways to alleviate your pet allergy symptoms but if you remove the source of your allergies, then you need not have to deal with the possibility of flare ups.
To reduce your symptoms, you can choose to disallow your pet from going into your bedroom or onto your furniture. You would also need to wash your pet once a week at least. Also, be sure to wash your hands after cuddling your pet.
Don’t be too hard on yourself if you decide to give up your pet either. It is not something that you expect to have to deal with prior to having a pet. The best thing that you can do for your pet is to make sure that you help find another owner who would adore him or her just as much as you do.
