I don’t know of anyone having a rice allergy but apparantly, rice allergies are common in countries in East Asia. Rice allergy is not found to be in common in countries such as the U.K. or U.S.
Sufferers can have a rice allergy after its consumption or when they inhale its pollen, Rice can cause hay fever symptoms in areas where it’s grown commercially.
Those with a rice allergy can also find themselves with the same reactions to a number of other foods from the same botanical family. These include barley, maize, wheat, oats and rye.
I’m glad that I do not have a rice allergy. It would be hard to not eat rice, since this is the staple of an Asian diet.
