Allergy Drugs

There are a number of allergy drugs. Here are some of them:
1. Benadryl. This is available over the counter. It is apparantly effective if you are looking for instant relief. It is effective in the instance of getting over hay fever symptoms and stuffy nose.
2. Clarinex. There are some forms that you can take over the counter, but you still should ask your doctor if you would be safe doing so. Clarinex can help with runny nose, red and watery eyes, sneezing and coughing.
3. Sudafed. Not many doctors would recommend that you take too much of Sudafed. Even though this is an over the counter drug, this drug can be pretty dangerous for other uses. However, this drug is known to help with symptoms of stuffy nose and other nasal passage symptoms.
However, with any drug you will want to check out the side effects. Most of these allergy drug medications can cause you drowsiness and hence, you may not wish to take them during the day. Also, not all drug medications may work for you. What works on another of your family member may not work on you.
Also, some allergy drugs lose their effectiveness over time. If you consume too much of drug medications, you may need higher and higer dosages for the same amount of itch and pain.
You also need to be aware that drug medications tend to be symptomatic reliefs. They do not help cure or address the root of your problems. When you are exposed to the allergens again, you may get another inflammatory reaction of which you may need another dose of medications to fight it. Prevention or avoidance of allergens can help to reduce your symptoms. You may also want to look into natural allergy treatments as complementary or alternative measures.
